Lucian McGuiness is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and live-event producer who makes musical things happen, mostly around Sydney, Australia and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Through composition, arranging and musical direction, McGuiness has developed exploratory and theatre-tinged musical concepts, such as a pastoral parlour music revival project, a stomping gospel trombone choir, a rip-roaring of a rhythm & blues cabaret show, and world-touring a junk-jazz circus-theater show together with circus Company 2. Check out the current arts projects at 'What'.
McGuiness has been a finalist in the APRA Professional Development Awards for emerging songwriters, his brass arrangements are to be heard on radios all over the world in the songs of Passenger, Tentempiés and Holly Throsby. He has been a regular and frequent brass player for artists such as Ben Walsh's Orkestra of the Underground, the Crusty Suitcase Band, Pete Philly & Perquisite, King Tide, the Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra, Joanna Newsom, Hi Tops Brass Band, Tentempiés and many more.
